David (our vicar) is cycling 200 miles in a single day. Starting at 4:30 in the morning. From Whitley Bay to Ayr. In June. Up 3,200 metres of climbing. And he’s doing it for St Paul’s.
David Tomlinson’s “Chasing the Sun” ride on 20th June is raising money for the Raise the Roof campaign — the restoration of one of Birmingham’s most important Georgian churches, right here in the Jewellery Quarter. The campaign has already raised over £200,000, which is remarkable, but the job isn’t done yet.
We’ve all sat in that church for services, concerts, weddings, and community events for years. It’s not just a building — it’s the heart of our community, and it’s been standing here since 1779. It deserves to keep standing.
David rode from Minister-on-the-Sea on the Kent coast to Weston-super-Mare, the southern Chasing the Sun route, and raised £2,000. Help him reach that target again this year by sponsoring him.
